Rushville, Oct 5 (Rockville) – The first military funeral held in Parke County since the war began occurred in Tangier today when Forest Hobson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ira E. Hobson was buried with full military honors. The young man, who was 19 years of age, died at Hampton Roads Training Station of pneumonia following Spanish influenza.  The service, which was attended by about 1500 people, was conducted by the Rev. AJ Airhart of Greencastle, assisted by Rev. Levi Woodard of Kingman. The Kingman band, a detachment of Company E under Captain Strouse and the Kingman Liberty Guard headed the long funeral cortege. A squad from E Company fired the salute at the grave and their bugler sounded taps at the close of the ceremony.
